High coastal road to Castro – Santa Cesarea Terme (Lecce)
Getting to us
Fly to Salento Airport in Brindisi, about 30 kilometres north of Lecce. Then you can catch the shuttle bus connection between Brindisi and Lecce. From Lecce, you can get to Santa Cesarea Terme on an STP bus that travels widely through the Salento peninsula or, in summer, you can use the Salentoinbus service that goes to all major coastal resorts. Alternatively, you can hire a car at the airport.
You need to get to Lecce on Trenitalia Ferrovie dello Stato and then take a train to Poggiardo on the Ferrovie Sud Est railway. Poggiardo, 8 kilometres from Santa Cesarea Terme, is the nearest town to the destination served by the railway. In summer, from Poggiardo, you can continue by bus using the Salentoinbus service. The Salentoinbus service operates from June to September. For further information please send an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org or call the number +39 3450101095 in the summer months.
Take the A14 (Bologna-Bari) or the A16 (Naples-Bari) motorway, then continue along the long stretch of main road from Bari to Lecce (passing through Brindisi). Before entering Lecce, take the exit on the ring road to Maglie, and then take the SS16 main road to Maglie. Then go straight on to Poggiardo and then to Santa Cesarea Terme. Alternatively, you can choose the coastal route, which is longer but more picturesque. Go to the coast from Lecce towards San Cataldo and then go along the coast to Otranto, and then on to Santa Cesarea Terme.
